ABOUT THE EVENT
“RUN TO REMEMBER”
The Inaugural Fargo Moorhead Student Veterans 9/11 Memorial 5K is a mission-driven event honoring the sacrifices of service members and first responders. Held at North Dakota State University, this first annual race raises critical funds for student veteran and emergency responder initiatives, scholarships, and emergency support.
Proceeds will directly fund student veteran programming, spouse and dependent scholarships, and a tactical fund to assist veterans, firefighters, law enforcement professionals, and emergency responders in times of need.
Be part of history on Sunday, September 7, 2025, as we launch this annual tradition—running in remembrance, standing in solidarity, and giving back to those who serve.
About the Course
The 9/11 Memorial 5K is North Dakota’s only USATF-certified and sanctioned 2025 9/11 Memorial 5K race, offering runners a rare opportunity to compete on a nationally recognized course. This fast and scenic route follows the perimeter of the beautiful North Dakota State University campus.
The race begins in the 12th Street parking lot, then heads north on 18th Street, loops around Research Drive, and continues along 17th Street before turning onto the scenic stretch of University Drive. From there, runners proceed south on 12th Street and reenter the NDSU campus, finishing adjacent to the historic Bunker Building. Along the way, participants will pass several iconic Fargo landmarks, including University Drive, 18th Street, and Albrecht Boulevard.
With its flat terrain and certified course standards, this event attracts both serious competitors and community runners committed to honoring the legacy of 9/11 through action.
